
Rajan Hoole
Rajan Hoole graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Univeristy of Ceylon in 1971, followed by a BSc in Mathematics from theUniversity of London and a DPhil in Mathematical Logic from Oxford in 1982. From 1985 until his retirement in 2015, he worked as Lecturer in Mathematics at the Univeristy of Jaffna with a break of 20 years following the murder of Dr. Rajani Thiranagama in 1989. He wrote The Broken Palmyra, with Dr. K. Sritharan and Daya Somasundaram, which delt with violence and struggle. After the war ended, Hoole returned to the University and has since then published Arrogance of Power (2001), Palmyra Fallen (2015), and Sri Lanka’s Easter Tragedy (2019).
